Gaia (guy a: a Greek Goddess of Earth) Wines, Inc., Central Indiana's newest winery, opened its doors to the public May 23, 1996. The winery is located in the urban setting of downtown Indianapolis at 608 Massachusetts Avenue in the heart of the city's theatre district. It is currently open seven days a week, from 11am.
Offering thirteen wines made by an award-winning Winemaker, Gaia provides an enjoyable and educational winery experience in its contemporary setting. Cellar Master Angee Walberry is a trailblazer in one of Indiana's growing agricultural segments. She is the first woman to own and operate a winery in the state. Gaia is the second winery in Indianapolis and the 19th in Indiana; records also indicate that Gaia is the only solely woman-owned winery among the 1700 located in the U.S.
